Tyler Smith has worked in legal firms in both Australia and in Canada. He has chosen to pursue his legal career on the Gold Coast in furtherance of his passion for commercial law and litigation practice. Tyler’s practice focuses primarily in advising on dispute resolution and litigation of commercial matters, such as disputes regarding commercial terms of trade, credit arrangements, preference payment claims brought by liquidators, real property, and personal property. He advises manufacturers, trades, retailers, and wholesalers across a range of issues and circumstances. Tyler also acts for both bodies corporate and owners in various disputes regarding community titles schemes in Queensland.
In addition, Tyler is experienced in commercial, retail, and industrial leasing of real property in Queensland. He acts on behalf of both landlords and tenants in the negotiation of lease terms, preparation of lease documentation and assignment of leases. He also acts in leasing disputes such as disputes regarding make good clauses, the rent disputes and general defaults.
