ELDER AND DISABILITY LAW
Been discriminated against? Need advice on Disability Law?
Nautilus Law Group believes the practice area known as Disability Law is inaccurate. In reality, the area is better described as Different Ability Law. The legal ramifications on family, employment, education and general opportunities are as wide in Different Ability Law then in any other area of family structuring. Nautilus Law Group has a separate practice division which just works with clients and families with Different Ability needs.
The Practice Director of Nautilus Law Group, Katrina E. Brown, is a mother of two children with autism. Her father lived with Dementia and Parkinson’s Disease until his passing in 2013. Katrina trained under her father in disability law from a young age, through his role as Licensing Inspector for residential facilities for adults with special needs. She visited facilities, reviewed care protocols and disability legislation and assisted with investigations.
As a teenager, her father, who was a licensing inspector for adult foster care homes, taught her the principles of appropriate accommodation principles. He also trained in investigation and protection protocols and nurtured her from the grassroots in disability advocacy.
It is with this grounding that Katrina leads the team at Nautilus Law Group, and it with this understanding that she helps families create their own life and estate plans suitable to each individual member of the family.
